Rocketry Club Reaches New Heights

For members of East Chapel Hill High School’s Rocketry Team, learning goes far beyond the classroom. Through participation in the American Rocketry Challenge, students take on the role of engineers—designing, building, testing, and launching rockets while solving real-world challenges along the way.

A grant from the Public School Foundation helped the team purchase critical supplies, including rocket engines and parachutes, allowing students to complete launches and continue preparing for competition.

One of the most memorable moments came when the team finally assembled their rocket and watched it come together after months of work. The pride and excitement on students’ faces reflected something even bigger than a successful launch: confidence, teamwork, and a passion for STEM that will carry them into the future.
