Paperhand Puppets

Stephanie Reid, art teacher at Seawell Elementary School, brought the award-winning Paperhand Puppet Project to all 370 students through a PSF grant. On March 23, students and teachers experienced a dynamic performance featuring larger-than-life puppets, storytelling, music, and visual art.
The program emphasized connection, environmental stewardship, and creativity, while also revealing the artistic process behind puppet construction and performance. Teachers and staff joined the finale, animating puppets and enhancing the interactive experience.
Ms. Reid said the event “brought our school community together by encouraging creativity and shared purpose, as well as promoting empathy and responsibility for the natural world.”
