2026 Grant Writing Workshop
Making Grant Writing More Accessible
In August, more than 30 teachers and staff from across Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools gathered at Smith Middle School for a grant writing workshop hosted by the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Public School Foundation.
The workshop introduced participants to PSF’s new online grant portal and showed them just how easy it can be to apply for funding. Teachers explored how a simple classroom idea can become a grant proposal—from funding hands-on materials for a science, art or STEM project to expanding students’ access to literacy resources and reading opportunities.
By making the grant process easier to understand and more accessible, PSF hopes to encourage even more teachers and staff to turn their ideas into opportunities for students. Through PSF grants, educators can bring innovative projects to life and create richer learning experiences across CHCCS.
